CROWN & BRIDGES

DENTAL CROWNS ARE USED TO PROTECT AND RESTORE DAMAGED TEETH. CROWNS COVER THE ENTIRE OUTER SURFACE OF THE PREPARED TOOTH, AND ARE THUS REFERRED TO AS “CAPS”.

A crown is used to cover or "cap" a damaged tooth to give it extra strength, as well as to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. Porcelain or ceramic crowns can be matched to the colour of your natural teeth. Other materials include gold and metal alloys, acrylic and ceramic. These alloys are stronger than porcelain and may be recommended for back teeth.

Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth, as they fill the space where the teeth are missing. Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the space in between the teeth. These teeth, called abutments, serve as anchors for the bridge.
